For Farmers and Producers Only
New This Year
This year’s pullets will be raised on Certified Non-GMO Grain and receive Fertrell minerals. Jeff Maddocks of Fertrell has personally designed the feeding, lighting and grow out plan for these pullets. A Fertrell nutritional expert will be involved in inspecting the grow out of these birds.
We have increased the amount of space that each pullet will receive at the grow house in order to facilitate better grow out.
This years pullets will be Hyline Red Sexlinks which are calm and do well on pasture.
Birds will have beaks intact.
They will be 17 weeks of age when they are delivered (a week older than past years).
Due to these improvements in feeding, lighting, and space, as well as to account for them being a week older, the cost of the bird will increases this year.
Pullets do sell out quickly so don't delay.
All orders must be in increments of 50 birds.
Purchases for pullets can be made by ACH payment through an online invoice this year.
We are accepting non-refundable deposits of $1 per bird.
Delivery will be around April 10 and early in the day (final actual date will be determined two weeks before delivery)
Unless you're raising many tens of thousands of birds at a time, it's very difficult for you to raise your own pullets for less cost. We crunched the numbers and it costs approximately $19-22 to raise a Red Sexlink brown egg layer for 17 weeks (assuming a flock of 100 birds). In addition to the normal cost of chick, shipping, bedding, this estimate assumes 18 pounds of non GMO feed and 60 hours of labor over the course of 17 weeks.
Remember, the smaller your batch size, the more expensive your pullet becomes. When you purchase a point of lay pullet with an untrimmed beak for $7.25-$8.50, you're saving over $10 per hen. And you avoid the risk of mortality and predation when the chicks are the most vulnerable.
50 - 100 pullets - $8.50
150 - 450 pullets - $8.25
500 - 1000 pullets - $7.75
1000+ - $7.25
This year final bills must be paid by March 10. Deposit and final invoices will be sent out through Quickbooks. These should be paid through the no charge, ACH link in the invoice.
