From Our Family Farm to Your Family Table

Our Story

We’re Pat’s Pastured — family-owned, family-operated and family-farmed by husband and wife duo Patrick and Kelly McNiff since 2002. With Pat’s experience bringing vegetable gardens to urban areas and Kelly’s background in education, we set out together to build a sustainable farm and provide wholesome food for our community. We’re passionate about raising the highest quality pastured and grass-fed meats, enriching our land with regenerative methods, and raising our livestock as nature intended.

Our Farm Practices

We humanely raise all our livestock on our own land with love and care, including 100% grass-fed beef and pasture-raised chickens, ducks, turkeys and pigs. We make sure to give our animals a good life where they can fully express their natural instincts in pastured fields with access to plenty of fresh air and sunshine. Our pigs root, run and play. Our chickens peck, scratch and crow. Our turkeys gobble and strut, and our cows graze outside.

When it comes to feeding our animals, we never use antibiotics, hormones, GMOs, or steroids. Our animals are fed a natural, pasture-based diet year-round that includes lush green grass in spring, summer and fall. During the winter months, they’re fed dried grasses (hay). Since chickens, ducks, turkeys and pigs need some grain in their diet, we give them certified non-GMO whole bean grains with corn, roasted soy, fruits and seasonal items like pumpkin added.

During the growing season, thanks to our loyal livestock guardian dogs, our animals are kept safe and sound from potential predators. And when it comes time to process our poultry, we do it with care on-site at our own processing facility. The benefits of doing it ourselves means they can be harvested at exactly the right time with no waiting and no middle-men.

Our Land

With more than 150 acres of green pasture and woodlots spread over Rhode Island, our animals have plenty of space to roam free.

Pat's Pastured proudly leases our home farm, Boesch Farm, from the Town of East Greenwich. We are endlessly appreciative of the town's support of our local Rhode Island farm and their commitment to keep a working farm in the community.

We care about our land just as much as our animals. Thanks to our pasture-based, organic and regenerative farming practices, we help protect the environment and reduce damage to the earth. Our rotation management system with livestock prevents overgrazing and naturally helps build healthy soil and thriving ecosystems.
